A new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub will be installed at an Ipswich car park after plans have been approved by council bosses.
Four EV charging stations will soon be installed at the Neighbourhood Centre car park outside homes at 4 to 46 Hening Avenue after Ipswich Borough Council gave the scheme the green light.
The development will turn 13 existing spots into seven new car bays and one oversized bay with chargers on the sides.
Other existing parking bays are set to stay untouched.
A consultee, Suffolk Highways, did not oppose the plans.
The EV charging points would have up to 360kW of charging power and could serve multiple vehicles at the same time, with almost five metres of cable reach on all sides of the charger.
They would also have a touchscreen user interface and optional credit card payment terminals.
The provider, Terra 360, said 60 miles of range could be charged in just three minutes.
A series of planning applications for EV charging points have been submitted across Ipswich in recent months.
