An Ipswich Town fan and his partner have named their first-born son after their favourite Blues player.
Aiden Spall and his girlfriend, Latisha, welcomed their son Wesley Connor Spall on Saturday, October 21.
The pair named their son Wesley, after Ipswich Town winger and Wales international Wes Burns, who recently hit 100 appearances for the Tractor Boys.
Aiden, from Brandon, who is a season ticket holder at Portman Road, said: "Before the takeover, I never really had a favourite player.
"When Wes Burns came in, since his first season, he has been just amazing to watch.
"I started taking my girlfriend to games, she hasn't been into football for very long, but she started enjoying it and loving him as well.
"He's just a stand-out player for us both and he has helped give some amazing memories with promotion last season."
Aiden posted a picture of Wesley on X, with Wes Burns seeing the tweet, sending his congratulations to the pair.
In the tweet, Burns said: "Congrats. Great name also."
Aiden said: "I couldn't believe it.
"We were in the hospital at the time, and I saw it come up and I said to Latisha that Burns had tweeted it back and she was surprised as well.
"It was quite surreal."
They are not the first Town fans to name a child after one of the members of this promotion winning team, with Lloyd Skeemer giving his son the middle names of Conor Chaplin after the forward liked a tweet.
