A man has been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious injuries following a house fire in Ipswich.
An air ambulance was among the emergency services called to the blaze in a home in Macaulay Road at about 8.15pm on Wednesday.
On arrival crews from Princes Street and Ipswich East fire stations found a first-floor fire at a residential property.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said one man was left in the care of the ambulance service.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said that two ambulances, three ambulance officer vehicles and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
A volunteer critical care paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service was also dispatched to treat the man.
The man, who had suffered significant burns, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge by road ambulance.
