Plans for seven new electric vehicle charging points at an Ipswich retail park have been approved.
The units will be established opposite Next in Suffolk Retail Park, just off London Road.
The planning application was made PoGo Charge, a nationwide "ultra-rapid" electric vehicle (EV) charging network operated by Swarco, and submitted to Ipswich Borough Council in April.
According to Swarco, the Raption 25 quick chargers are designed for efficiency, to reduce charging times for larger battery electric vehicles by charging up to 80 miles (25kW) in an hour.
According to application documents, features of the touch-screen units will include a two-three times quicker charging experience, wide voltage range that allows charging of heavy duty vehicles such as an e-bus or e-truck, and lower energy consumption.
The proposals were considered by Ipswich Borough Council in line with the authority's strategy of establishing a "leadership role in tackling the climate emergency."
In February, plans for 12 new electric vehicle charging points were approved as part of a re-development of Ipswich's Anglia Retail Park, to the north of the town.
