An Ipswich car dealership is throwing its weight behind a town boxing champion with not just the "perfect vehicle", but a new partnership too.

Fabio Wardley, 28, visited Integrity Automotive Ltd in West End Road on Thursday, where he was presented with a BMW X4 M40i.

The dealership has just become one of Mr Wardley’s main sponsors and intends to sponsor him for the rest of his career, explained Integrity Automotive’s managing director, Paul Oakley.

“I am a major boxing fan, and we have sold several cars to high profile boxers,” said Mr Oakley.

He had met Mr Wardley through Ipswich garage owner Mark Beadsworth, who has also supplied cars for Mr Wardley

“We got talking, and that was how we were able to offer our support,” said Mr Oakley.

“He has worked exceptionally hard. It's nice when you work hard to reward yourself as milestone are achieved. That’s exactly what he’s done.

“I think we’ve found him the perfect vehicle.”

An Ipswich boy born and bred, Mr Wardley has quickly made a name for himself in the boxing world, having amassed an impressive record of 16 wins, 0 losses, with 15 knockouts.

His remarkable journey from local sensation to a globally recognised boxer and British heavyweight champion has won the support of fans worldwide.

At the end of the month, Mr Wardley will travel to Saudi Arabia to take on David Adeleye on October 28. The fight will take place on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou.

Mr Oakley is delighted to be able to support Mr Wardley on his journey to becoming a world champion.

“It doesn’t get any better,” he laughed. “A lot of the guys that work with me are also keen boxing fans, so for them to be able to meet him, the atmosphere on site was superb.

“The guys haven’t stopped talking about it. We’ll be right behind him on his next fight.”
