Two separate unplanned power cuts are affecting people who live in Ipswich and the surrounding areas near Felixstowe.
UK Power Networks said it is investigating a high voltage overhead electricity line fault which has caused a power cut to residents in Nacton, Levington, Bucklesham, and Falkenham.
Engineers are on their way and it is estimated power will be back on between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
A second incident caused by a high voltage electricity line fault in the north of Ipswich has left over 1000 people without power.
Eight postcodes have been affected, including NR35 and IP1.
Engineers are also on the way to investigate this fault and power could return by 6.30pm.
