A police cordon is in place after a woman was sexually assaulted in Ipswich.
The serious sexual assault happened sometime between midnight and 1.30am on Friday, September 29, near to the towpath close to the skate park at Stoke Bridge.
A woman in her 30s has reported to police that she was taken into some bushes close to the towpath by two men.
The victim was then raped, and the offenders left the scene.
A police scene is currently in place as enquiries into the full circumstances of the incident continue.
The victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
People are being told that they will see extra police patrols in the area and anyone with any concerns are encouraged to speak with them.
Detectives are currently progressing a number of lines of enquiry to identify the suspects, and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, has CCTV footage in the area or noted any other suspicious activity around the time of the offence, to contact police, quoting reference 37/57274/23.
