Homes in parts of south Suffolk have been waking up to brown and discoloured water this morning.

Anglian Water issued a warning to customers in Holbrook and nearby villages on Wednesday.

In a statement on its website, the water supplier said people may have brown, orange or yellow water.

The issue is being caused by a "disturbance" of iron sediments in the water main.

The statement added: "Iron in the water is harmless and is usually short lived, but we are carrying out localised flushing to remove the discolouration."
