An Ipswich library has been forced to closed after part of its roof collapsed during repair works.
Suffolk Libraries has confirmed Gainsborough Library, in Clapgate Lane, will be closed next week after the incident on Thursday.
Repairs were being carried out on the roof of the building when part of the ceiling collapsed in the staff area.
Nobody was injured as a result of the collapse.
A spokesman for Suffolk Libraries said: "Some further repair work needs to be carried out and safety checks made to ensure the site is safe for staff and customers before it reopens.
"We apologise to customers for any inconvenience. People are welcome to use any other library with the nearest being Rosehill Library, Ipswich County Library and Kesgrave Library.
"The dates of any loans due back during the closure will be automatically extended."
