There were severe delays on the A14 outside Ipswich after a two-vehicle crash.
Police were at the scene of the crash involving a lorry and a car in the eastbound carriageway near Claydon, north of Ipswich, on Monday afternoon.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said the road was blocked and there was debris in the carriageway.
The extent of any injuries is not yet known.
According to the AA Traffic Map there were lengthy delays in the area.
