Two recently closed restaurant brands that had chains in Ipswich will be sold to new owners in £7.5million deal.
Frankie & Benny's and Chiquito in Ravenswood, Ipswich, have both recently shut their doors to the public.
The Restaurant Group (TRG), has agreed a deal to sell its leisure business, which includes Frankie & Benny's and Chiquito, to rival Big Table Group.
TRG said it will pay £7.5m in cash to Big Table, which already owns big names such as Cafe Rouge, Las Iguanas and Bella Italia, for it to buy the loss-making business.
Ipswich's Frankie & Benny's and Chiquito have shut their doors over the last few weeks, with all signage and branding removed almost instantly following closure.
They were the last of the chains in Suffolk.
Alan Morgan, chief executive of Big Table, said: "This exciting acquisition forms part of our growth strategy and we are delighted to be welcoming this new team."
It is not clear if Big Table plans to reopen in Ipswich, or if it has any other plans for the now-vacant units.
