A man who fired a shotgun into the home of his colleague and a woman who stabbed a man causing serious injuries are among those put behind bars this week.
Claire Burgess
The 37-year-old has been jailed for seven years after she stabbed a man, causing life-threatening injuries.
Burgess, of London Road South, Lowestoft was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court.
Police were called to Raglan Street in Lowestoft just before 8pm on December 15, 2021, by the ambulance service to a report a man in his 30s had been stabbed.
She first appeared before court in November 2022 where she pleaded guilty to wounding with intent.
Jonathan Quinn
Quinn was jailed for three years after striking a man over the head with a frying pan and burning his fingers.
The 42-year-old was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to robbery and two counts of actual bodily harm at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday.
During the hearing the court heard how Quinn, of Denmark Road in Lowestoft, struck a 61-year-old man on the head with a frying pan and asked for his phone and bank card on October 28, 2022.
The pair were known to each other and the attack took place in the victim's flat.
Jason Anderson
The 37-year-old has been jailed for four years and five months after he fired a shotgun into the home of a colleague after finding out he was seeing his ex-girlfriend.
At an earlier hearing Anderson of Riverside, Brandon, admitted possessing a shotgun with intent to cause fear of violence and unlawful wounding in June.
In addition to being jailed, Anderson was banned from contacting the victim.
Ipswich Crown Court heard that a pellet from the gun fired by Anderson struck the victim, who was in his living room in High Street, Brandon, on the leg causing an injury.
The court heard that since the incident guns found at Anderson’s home had been seized and his firearms’ certificate had been revoked.
Christopher Steele
A 36-year-old Ipswich man who raped and sexually assaulted a schoolgirl has been jailed for 15 years.
Christopher Steele made his victim feel "like a piece of meat", Ipswich Crown Court heard.
Steele, of Andros Close, Ipswich, was convicted of two offences of rape, assault of a child under 13 by penetration and five offences of sexual assault.
He was also banned from contacting his victim for life.
