A 31-year-old has been charged after a serious assault at a petrol station in Ipswich left a man in a critical condition.
Officers were called to the BP garage in Norwich Road at about 12.25am on Sunday morning after two men had been injured in an altercation on the forecourt.
The two men, aged in their 40s, were found with head injuries.
One man was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The second man was taken to Ipswich Hospital with serious injuries.
Gladstone Allen, of Muntjac Gardens, Stowmarket, has since been charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding a person and assault.
He appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court today, August 14, where he was remanded by the court to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on 11 September.
A police cordon was in place at the BP garage, which was closed to members of the public, while investigations were carried out.
A 31-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
She has since been released under investigation.
