Drivers faced traffic queues of around 35 minutes this evening (August 8) after an obstruction blocked the road over the River Orwell.
A car caught fire on the A14 heading eastbound on the Orwell Bridge at around 6.15pm.
The Nissan Nivara caught fire on the bridge during the rush hour traffic.
While two fire crews attended the scene - one from Ipswich East and one from Princes Street - the fire was out on their arrival.
No casualties have been reported following the incident, and traffic is now moving freely again.
