Work to install a new Ferris wheel that will change the skyline of a coastal town is almost complete.
The 34.5-metre high attraction on Felixstowe seafront is being installed on one of the grass patches between the promenade and Sea Road, with work being undertaken by the Essex-based firm Observation Attractions Company.
Work to install the new attraction began on Wednesday and is already nearing completion.
The Ferris wheel will have the capacity for carrying 144 people, with each of its 24 gondolas capable of holding six, including one accessible for disabled people.
The new attraction will be open to the public later this month and will likely bring in tourists to the seaside town, and is considered by the organisers to "add to the offer of tourism facilities in the resort".
Some of the objections received regarding this application include worries about constant noise and lights from the attraction and the lack of parking spaces in the area.
Concerns over the site being too small for the size of the wheel, anti-social behaviour and being too noisy and bright were also concerns raised, with the wheel running for 12 hours a day, seven days a week.
