Plans for two new flats to be built in the former Knapton Mews office building in Turret Lane have been submitted to the council.
The plans suggest creating a ground floor and first floor flat in the vacant building, which is located behind the former offices at Knapton Court, close to the Old Cattle Market bus station in the centre of town.
Knapton Court, too, has been the subject of recent planning applications. A previous application to create six one- and two-bedroom flats had been accepted. However, the latest proposal to create nine flats in the former office block was rejected in June, with the council citing concerns over how much natural light the flats would receive.
This application suggests creating a one-bedroom flat in the ground floor of Knapton Mews, and a two-bedroom flat on the first floor.
Both flats would be accessed via a lobby towards the front
Ipswich Borough Council has set an eight-week target date for a decision of September 26.
