Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing following an incident in which armed police shot a dog after it attacked people in Ipswich.
On Tuesday, July 11, a number of police units and a dog handler were dispatched to the shoreline near Orwell Country Park at about 7.20pm.
A number of calls reported that a dog was out of control, had bitten two people and attacked another dog.
On arrival, Suffolk Constabulary found the dog to be unstable and in extreme distress and were not able to bring it safely under control.
Members of the public who were present in the area were moved away and out of sight of the dog before it was put down.
