After 127 years of standing, a historic multi-use cricket pavilion at an Ipswich school is being renovated.

Ipswich High School has been refurbishing the interiors of the Woolverstone Hall Cricket Pavilion to create a "unique space" for the school community.

The school has set a target to raise £25,000 to renovate the pavilion, which has been called "a fundamental part of the school for many more generations to come".

The first stage of the restoration has been completed, with a new roof on the building being installed to prevent further deterioration of the original external and internal structures.

Kevin Smith, deputy head of operations at Ipswich High School, said: "We are thrilled to be a part of this refurbishment project and understand the significance it holds for the school and the local community.

"Restoring this building not only preserves its heritage but also brings back cherished memories for the old alumni."

The interior of the pavilion will include a café area that will be used by students and alumni.
