Popular burger restaurant Byron is about to close down its Ipswich branch later this month.
The venue located in Buttermarket Shopping Centre will shut down for good on July 21.
Byron Burgers’ spokesperson said the reason for that is due to the drop in sales compared to last year.
The American-inspired chain diner serving posh hamburgers with a choice of toppings, sides and salads reopened in Ipswich in late 2020 after temporarily closing during the Covid pandemic.
The news comes after the owner of Byron Burger said in January that nine restaurants would be shut down after falling into administration.
Famously Proper, which owns Byron and fried chicken brand Mother Clucker, said it will cut 218 jobs as a result of the closures.
Another Byron restaurant in Suffolk arrived in Bury St Edmunds in 2015 and moved into the Arc shopping centre.
