Two people have been charged with murder following the discovery of a two-year-old girl's body in Ipswich last Friday.
Here is everything we know about the case so far.
Friday, June 30 - 11.45am
Officers were called to Sidegate Lane Temporary Housing Unit and, upon entering, discovered the body of a two-year-old girl.
Saturday, July 1
A 22-year-old man from Bedfordshire and a 22-year-old woman of no fixed abode were arrested in Bury St Edmunds on suspicion of murder.
It is revealed that the pair are known to the victim and they are taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning.
Superintendent Jane Topping released the following statement: “We are still looking to establish the exact circumstances leading to the death of this child. Our initial enquiries are underway and these will continue over the weekend.
“Clearly, such a discovery is extremely distressing for everyone concerned. We’d ask people not to speculate on social media as to the identity of the child or to the circumstances surrounding her death.
“A highly visible presence of officers is likely to continue in the area for the next few days with reassurance patrols.
"These officers are available to speak to concerned members of the community. This is a fast-moving investigation and we are appealing to the local community for any information which may aid this investigation.”
Sunday, July 2
Detectives were given an additional 36 hours to question the suspects.
Distressed neighbours speak of the "awful" moment police cars and ambulances arrived on the scene, claiming forensic scientists exited the building in tears.
Monday, July 3
Police made a second application for warrants of further detention at Suffolk Magistrates' Court and were granted additional time to question the suspects.
The additional time would have expired at 1.45am and 1.53am on Wednesday, July 5.
Floral tributes to the two-year-old girl are laid outside the temporary housing unit.
Tuesday, July 4
Scott Jeff, 22, and Chelsea Gleason-Mitchell, also 22, both of no fixed address and formerly of Bedfordshire, are charged with murder.
They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 5.
Police reveal an initial Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted, but further tests are required and that formal identification procedures have not yet taken place.
They also detail that a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct regarding previous police contact with the deceased elsewhere.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about this incident to contact the Major Investigation Team, using the online portal or by calling 101 quoting crime reference 37/37749/23.
Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via their online form.
