A man in his 50s has been arrested after armed police were called to an incident in a Suffolk village.
Officers received reports of a concern for safety of a male at an address in Shotley on Thursday, June 29.
Armed police arrived a the scene, before the man arrived a short while later.
The suspect kicked an officer in the leg and punched him multiples time in the head and face after an attempt to make an arrest was made.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said: "To restrain him the male was pepper sprayed."
Police also seized a firearm at the property.
The man, aged in his 50s, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of stalking and assault of a police officer.
He was taken to Marltesham Police investigation centre for questioning, where he was bailed until July 14.
