A man has been arrested after a huge brawl near a town centre park involving a knife which left two police officers injured and a man in hospital.
Police were called at 4.30pm on Sunday, June 11 after reports of a fight between 15 people in the Bolton Lane area near Christchurch Park.
One man, aged 39, was arrested for possession of offensive weapons, namely a knife.
He has been taken to Martlesham Police Station for questioning where he remains.
One man, aged 30, was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment for head injuries.
The injured man was also arrested for two counts of assault on police officers.
Both officers were not seriously hurt.
Police will be doing additional visible patrols and remain in the area into this evening in a bid to offer reassurance to the local community.
