The Suffolk Punch pub on Norwich Road in Ipswich is expected to reopen its doors in a few weeks after notices appeared advertising for staff.
The pub is one of only a few in north west Ipswich - but has had a difficult history over recent years with a few closures before reopening.
A few weeks ago it shut again and was boarded up - but now the security door and metal shutters have been removed and notices have appeared in the windows asking for applications for bar staff and a cook/chef.
The Suffolk Punch has always been known as a "wet pub" - the only food on offer was crisps and peanuts - but the notices suggest that it should have more food on offer when it reopens.
We have tried to make contact with the new landlord, but without success.
It is understood local people have heard it is likely to reopen in July.
The Suffolk Punch was built in the 1930s as one of the "Tolly Follies" put up by the Tollemache Brewery to serve the new estates like the Dales and the Crofts that were going up around Ipswich.
It closed shortly before the first lockdown, but re-opened during the summer of 2020 but the shutters went up again earlier this year.
