The owners of a popular Ipswich café have confirmed they will continue to run their business permanently after a takeover fell through.
Sisters Beth Titchie and Hannah Huntly founded Applaud Coffee in 2013, but announced in November last year they would be passing the reins on to new owners.
However, the takeover fell through in February, with Beth and Hannah confirming they would remain at the helm while they relisted the building for sale.
The pair have now revealed they will be keeping the St Peter's Street business, with "exciting" events planned for the future.
"As you know earlier this year we were due to sell this business," they said in a post on Facebook.
"Although this was a difficult experience to have gone through, we are delighted to tell you that the outcome is that we have now decided to keep the business.
"Over the last few months we have been dreaming about the next phase of Applaud Coffee and we are very excited to bring you along on the journey with us.
"We have some exciting changes planned for May, which we know you’re going to love. Creating and combining delicious food and drinks in a beautiful space and sharing this with you our customers is at the core of who we are."
New events include an 'art boot sale', showcasing nearly 200 pieces of work from 10 artists who have submitted their pieces.
The café will be open from 8.30am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday as a result of the new plans.
Beth and Hannah added: "We are so grateful for the amazing way that you love and support Applaud.
"After all, without all of your support we wouldn’t be where we are today - so, thank you."
