A 40-year-old man who died after being attacked in Ipswich almost four years ago has been named.
Raimonds Gromolds died after being attacked at about 4am on Tuesday, June 9 2019 in Harland Street, Ipswich.
Mr Gromolds was assaulted at his home and suffered extensive head and facial injuries and internal abdominal pain.
The suspect then left the area and fled the country, a spokesman for Suffolk police said.
Mr Gromolds was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
He later passed away in 2021.
On Friday, Edgars Slavinski, 30, of Ipswich, was seen in the UK at Stansted Airport.
He was then arrested on suspicion of assault and taken into police custody for questioning.
He has subsequently been charged with murder and committing an act or series of acts with intent to pervert the course of public justice.
