A man has been ordered to pay almost £2,000 after he illegally dumped waste on private land in Ipswich.
Arunas Petrauskas, of Geneva Road, was successfully prosecuted by Ipswich Borough Council for dumping about 25 refuse bags of waste onto private land in Anglesea Road in October 2022.
Following an investigation by Ipswich Borough Council's environmental protection officers, Mr Petrauskas refused to attend an interview under caution, so was prosecuted.
He pleaded guilty and appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Monday, where he was fined £1,820.
A spokesman for Ipswich Borough Council said: "This case demonstrates the commitment of our environmental protection team, who successfully prosecuted this individual for illegally dumping waste.
“Anyone thinking of dumping their waste illegally in Ipswich should think again, as we won’t tolerate this crime and will prosecute those doing so.”
Earlier this year a self-employed builder was ordered to pay almost £3,000 for fly tipping a large amount of waste in Whitton Church Lane in Ipswich.
In October a man was fined £1,943 after about 50 bags of rubbish were found dumped in a wooded area in Ipswich.
