Two Ipswich women are to stand trial over animal welfare concerns after a guinea pig was allegedly thrown out of a window.
Chantelle Slinn, 28, of George Street, and Sophie Egan, 26, of Shenstone Drive, have both denied animal welfare charges.
Not guilty pleas were taken in Suffolk Magistrates Court on Monday, March 13. Ms Slinn appeared in court and Ms Egan was represented.
They both faced charges of causing unnecessary suffering to a guinea pig on September 1 in 2021 at a property in George Street, Ipswich, by failing to provide adequate care and supervision resulting in it being thrown out of a window.
They were also charged with not taking steps to ensure the needs of an animal - namely, a guinea pig - were met, between August 31 and September 21, 2021.
Slinn also denied failing to meet the needs of a guinea pig by failing to provide appropriate veterinary attention.
The case previously appeared in Ipswich Crown Court, where Judge Pugh expressed concerns over the case being tried there.
The women will next appear at Suffolk Magistrates Court on July 26 for trial.
