It is business as usual for a popular Ipswich coffee shop after a takeover fell through.

In November sisters Beth Titchie and Hannah Huntley, who founded Applaud Coffee, announced they would be handing over the reins to new owners

However, they have since revealed that the takeover of the St Peter's Street premises has fallen through.

Mrs Huntley said: "It has been quite an uncertain couple of months for us and the staff while we wait for the sale to complete.

"We are now just re-focussing on the season ahead and spring is a nice time for us because we have our courtyard garden and we are going to put on some more events.

"Previously we had done a lot of evening events and creative workshops and we are actually going to get some booked in and added to the calander.

"We are very much looking forward to getting back to it but at the same time we will be relisting the building for sale and hopefully we can find the right buyer."

The sisters are remaining positive about a new buyer but have said in the meantime they have some exciting things planned for the shop.

Mrs Huntley added: "We don't know when that next buyer will come along so we are very committed to being a part of the next season and we have some exciting things booked in.

"There is talks of us going to London Coffee Festival again in April.

"Our team were always going to be staying on with the new buyers so it has been nice to draw a line under it and have something to look forward to.

"In terms of looking for a new buyer previously we had only gone through our industry contacts whereas this time we are thinking about listing it to a wider audience on the public market."
