A police cordon has been put in place in Ipswich town centre after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted.
The incident happened sometime between 10pm on Wednesday and 1am on Thursday in an alleyway between St Stephen's Church Lane and Upper Brook Street, near the Buttermarket shopping centre in the town centre.
A police cordon remains in place as officers carry out enquiries.
Officers are reviewing available CCTV footage from the area to assist.
The victim is also being supported by specially trained officers.
Local officers are conducting patrols in the area and anyone with any concerns are encouraged to speak with them.
Officers investigating the assault are particularly keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or who was in the location last night and saw or heard anything suspicious.
Anyone with any infromation is being asked to contact Suffolk police quoting the crime reference number 37/9430/23.
The incident comes after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on the same evening as the Reclaim the Night protest highlighting violence against women and girls in December.
