The new owners of a historic Ipswich pub have been announced.
Red Oak Taverns has exchanged contracts to purchase the freehold of the Thomas Wolsey pub.
Father and son Dougie and Ben I'Ason have been in charge of the pub since 2011.
The pair decided to put the pub up for sale after Dougie prepared to retire and Ben wanted to explore other ventures.
The Grade II-listed property, which is located in St Peter's Street, is an all bar trading business that has an excellent reputation for its real ales, regularly hosting up to four ales mainly from local or East Anglian breweries.
Speaking about the acquisition, property director for Red Oak Taverns Graeme Bunn said: “We are looking to recruit a hospitality operator to take this pub forward. It would ideally suit people who want to establish the pub as an iconic traditional pub with good beers, real ales and quality pub food.
"The area benefits from footfall from nearby offices, the new upmarket waterfront apartment developments alongside the University of Suffolk campus”.
