An appeal has been launched after a man was seen repeatedly hitting a chihuahua on the head in an Ipswich park.
The incident reportedly happened at about 4pm on Thursday, January 19 in Bourne Park, in south of the town.
According to the RSPCA, a man was seen to pick up the small brown dog after it had gone over to a person with two collie-type dogs.
The man is alleged to have repeatedly hit the dog in the head while he walked along a dirt track leading from the park.
He was seen to have had another small dog with him which had a shaggy grey coat and was off lead.
The man is described as bald, about 6ft tall and of a large frame.
He was wearing a black coast and dark grey chino-type trousers.
The RSPCA is investigating the incident and is urging any witnesses who may have seen this to contact the RSPCA appeal line on 0300 123 8018 and leave a message for the RSPCA, quoting incident number 01016987.
