Plans to convert the first and second floor of Sailmakers shopping centre into 26 apartments have been resubmitted.
The initial proposal of 28 flats was withdrawn as it was "over the permitted conversion areas allowed under a change of use application."
The two floors were previously used as retail and storage but currently stand unoccupied.
The proposals have been submitted by the centre's owners Sailmakers Ipswich (ALB) Limited who purchased the site earlier this year.
13 apartments have been proposed for the first floor, comprising nine one bedrooms and one two bedroom, alongside three one bedroom studio apartments.
13 apartments have also been proposed for the second floor, comprising of five one bedrooms and five two bedrooms, alongside three one bedroom studio apartments.
All residential blocks would be accessed via a communal corridor and would consist of a storeroom/cupboard space, a shower room, bedroom(s) and open plan kitchen, dining and living room.
All ground floor retail units will be retained to prevent the loss of the main shopping area.
The application concludes that "designs have been developed to ensure a sensitive design solution that maximises the potential of the site."
