A higher police presence will be seen across Ipswich town centre after the mobile station on the Cornhill closed down on Wednesday.
The station was set up after 18-year-old Raymond James Quigley was stabbed to death in Westgate Street on January 17.
However, increased patrols will be seen across the town centre - with officers available at the shared police and fire station in Princes Street.
Superintendent Andy Martin said: "The closure of the mobile station doesn’t represent police leaving the area, we will continue to be highly visible in the coming weeks.
"This is the first step in our new visibility plan and our increased presence in the town centre, following the relocation of the southern Kestrel team to the Princes Street station last December, and the creation of a community engagement officer role dedicated to the town centre at the same time.
"These plans came together following the events of last summer and continue to demonstrate our continued commitment to the town alongside that of our partners."
