Hundreds of striking workers from across Suffolk are set to march through Ipswich on Wednesday.
The rally will be attended by teachers, lecturers, civil servants and train drivers who are all walking out as a result of ongoing disputes over pay and working conditions.
Starting at 12pm on February 1, the march will assemble outside the University of Suffolk Waterfront building before moving along the marina towards Stoke Bridge.
At 1pm, the members from the NEU, UCU, PCS, and ASLEF unions will assemble outside the Town Hall before speakers address the crowd.
Speaking on behalf of the Ipswich and District Trades Council, who have helped towards organising the event, Mark Jones said: "The message that’s coming from this march is that when workers commit to putting on a show of solidarity like this, they are trying to protect livelihoods as well as the communities where they live and work.
"Without schoolteachers, without university lecturers, without civil servants, without train drivers, our local shops, bars, and restaurants would lose trade.
"Local businesses and communities would be left all the poorer for it.
"They deserve better, therefore, we all deserve better.”
