A new row is brewing in Bramford near Ipswich over plans to build 11 homes on the old Bypass Nurseries site on the road into the village.
An application was originally lodged with Mid Suffolk Council to build 20 homes on the site and that was approved in 2017, however the plans never went ahead.
At the end of 2021 a new plan for 29 homes on the site was submitted - but this never was never approved.
Now a new proposal for seven large homes, four affordable homes and a new commercial building has been submitted.
After months of discussions with planners, the application was re-submitted at the end of last year but the new application is opposed by Bramford Parish Council.
It has a number of concerns - among them the fact that a commercial building would be so close to what is described as "executive" homes.
The parish points out that hundreds of new homes have already been built in the village and that the road into the village from Ipswich, on which the new development would be built, has seen several accidents over recent years.
The application is still being studied by planning officers serving Babergh and Mid Suffolk councils and is expected to be debated early this year.
