A Suffolk pub has been named the second-best gastropub in the UK at a prestigious national awards ceremony.
The Unruly Pig in Bromeswell, near Woodbridge, has come second in the Estrella Damn's Top 50 Gastropubs guide for 2023.
The pub was top of the list last year and hosted the award ceremony this year but was beaten to the top spot by Parkers Arms in Newton-In-Bowland in Lancashire.
Estrella Damm's list ranks the UK’s best gastropubs according to votes from more than 400 owners, food critics, and other industry experts.
Top 50 Gastropubs, publisher, Chris Lowe said: “We are thrilled to see such a strong list of contenders this year, including five new entrants.
"The Top 50 Gastropubs provides a space for food and drink lovers the opportunity to explore the best that the UK has to offer.
"We are delighted to host this year’s event at The Unruly Pig, showcasing the vast amount of talent across the UK.”
First appearing on the list in 2017, the venue was named by the Michelin Guide as one of the top six food pubs in the east of England in 2021.
