A landmark Ipswich building is to temporarily house a reuse shop selling items saved from Suffolk recycling centres.
The Ancient House in the Buttermarket, Ipswich town centre, will become home to a new reuse shop from Monday, January 30.
It will temporarily replace the shop's current site at Foxhall Recycling Centre, which has been going through a £7.8 million re-development project since October.
The shop will sell furniture, sports equipment, kitchen supplies, books and toys collected at the 11 recycling centres across Suffolk, with proceeds going to a youth charity.
The Benjamin Foundation works with young people by offering a range of services to prevent homelessness, provide emotional support and run positive activities.
The Foundation's operations manager Paul Sinclair said: "We know times are tight right now, which makes our vital work supporting young people is more important than ever before.
"Every item the public donates and that they buy from our shops really does make a difference, so rather than shutting shop in Foxhall for a while, we are relocating to allow shoppers to continue to bag bargains for a good cause.
"We are sure this new location will prove a popular choice both for our regular customers and hopefully we will bring new residents into our reuse revolution."
The shop will be open from Monday to Saturday, 10am - 4pm, taking over from the existing shop at Foxhall which will cease trading on Sunday, January 22.
The Ancient House is a Grade I listed building which dates to the 15th century and is owned by Ipswich Borough Council.
Councillor Richard Smith is Suffolk County Council's cabinet member for economic development, transport strategy and waste.
Cllr Smith said: "We are delighted to be re-locating the reuse shop at Foxhall as part of our phased approach to redeveloping our facilities yet still delivering on our agenda to encourage reuse and thereby avoid waste.
"By purchasing items from the reuse shop, you are not only extending the life and use of the items instead of throwing away, you are also supporting a local charity that undertakes important work throughout Suffolk."
