An application has been submitted to convert a series of former retail units in Ipswich into four flats.

The plans, provided by Sterling State Lettings Ltd, would see work carried out at 31-33 Garrick Way in Castle Hill - a site which has been vacant since January 2022.

The building is a part of the Garrick Way Local Centre, which comprises shops including a convenience store, a barber and a Co-op.

It is also surrounded by a number of other residential properties.

If approved, plans will include two one-bedroom apartments and two two-bedroom flats.

The applicant said: "The application building was last used as a retail unit with associated facilities and has been vacant since January 2022", and added, should plans go ahead, "works would be completed within three years starting with the prior approval date".
