A man and a woman have been released on bail after an assault on New Year's Eve in Ipswich.
The incident happened in Robeck Road, in the Gainsborough area of the town, at about 5.50pm on Saturday, December 31.
According to Suffolk police, officers believe an altercation happened in the doorway of a house, where a man and a woman were on the outside of the address trying to gain entry.
Following this, a man inside the house suffered an injury to his arm and was taken to hospital.
The victim’s injury was not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A section of Robeck Road was closed off while officers searching for the two suspects made enquiries at another property in the road.
A woman was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning.
Detectives understand that the victim and suspects are known to each other and as such are treating this as an isolated incident.
On Tuesday, police confirmed that a man and a woman had been released on bail, pending futher enquiries.
Any witnesses to the incident are urged to contact Suffolk police, quoting CAD 260 of December 31.
