A florist who has served Ipswich for more than 52 years has said she plans to "take a well-earned rest" after announcing her retirement.
Christine Hurst, 73, has been the owner of Christine's Florist, in Bramford Road, since 1970.
"I have lived and breathed every minute of this shop," she said.
"People have often stopped me and asked if I ever got bored.
"But I never did. Every day was different and I loved it."
During her time as owner, Christine welcomed in a number of famous faces - particularly from Ipswich Town Football Club.
"Sir Alf Ramsey was a really big customer," she said.
"The first day he came in he asked to open an account and I had no idea who he was. It was quite amusing for the both of us.
"When he sadly passed away, my flowers were used at his funeral.
"Sir Bobby Robson was also a big customer of ours.
"That account has continued with the football club since those days."
After 52 incredible years, the Kesgrave resident now feels it is the right time to retire and hand the baton over to someone else.
Christine's Florist will retain its name, but will be moving to Nacton Road as part of Ipswich Florist Direct.
"The time just feels right," she said.
"I've been very fortunate to have been busy and have had a dedicated set of loyal customers.
"But things are very different today.
"Not only am I 73 now, but the town doesn't feel safe for me anymore - it seems to have got more violent.
"And I've got other things I want to do - including focus on grandmother duties!
"I have to say I wouldn't have been able to get through all of this without my wonderful staff.
"And I will miss it because I have worked almost every day during those 52 years - rarely having more than a few days off.
"But now I think I've now got the right to take a well-earned rest.
"I'm sad to say goodbye but I'm fortunate enough to be able to look back with very fond memories."
