Drivers are being warned of delays on a major Ipswich road as four-way traffic lights are planned while drainage improvements take place.
The traffic lights will be in place at the junction of Princes Street and Burrell Road from January 3 for 10 working days.
According to Suffolk Highways, the work will involve the installation of a new surface water drainage pipe, gullies, and new kerbs/drainage blocks.
It is hoped that the work will resolve the history of highway flooding along the stretch of road.
The traffic lights will be in place while Ipswich Town Football Club games are taking place.
A spokesman for Suffolk Highways said: "Unfortunately, the traffic signals will likely cause some traffic disruption so to ensure we manage traffic as best as possible; we have arranged for members of staff to be on site, to manage the traffic signals manually."
If the work progresses well, it may be possible to clear the site before the second weekend, the spokesman added.
