Sister Act the Musical has announced a TV and theatre star will join its habit of nuns when it arrives in Ipswich early next year.
Birds of a Feather star Lesley Joseph will play Mother Superior in the award winning musical at the Ipswich Regent.
The star is best known for playing Dorien Green in the hugely successful sitcom Birds of a Feather alongside Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson for nine years and more than 100 episodes.
She has also appeared on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, ITV programme Night and Day, and most recently Channel 4’s Celebrity Coach Trip. Lesley’s theatre credits include Miss Hannigan in Annie, and earned an Olivier Award nomination as Faur Blucher in Young Frankenstein.
The show, based on Whoopi Golberg's film of the same name, will run at the Regent from Monday, April 17, to Saturday, April 22.
The production also features television and musical theatre stars Sandra Marvin as Deloris Van Cartier, Clive Rowe as Eddie Souther and Lizzie Bea as Sister Mary Robert.
Other cast members in this production include Jeremy Secomb, Graham McDuff, Tricia Deighton, Lori Haley Fox, Damian Buhagiar, Tom Hopcroft, Bradley Judge, Tanya Edwards, Catherine Millsom, Anne Smith, Emma Ralston, Jermaine Woods, Michael Ward and Caroline Bateson.
The UK and Ireland Tour of Sister Act the Musical comes direct from a London season at the Eventim Apollo.
