An 11-year-old has had her first hair cut in five years to make wigs for children with cancer.
Laura Gregory, from Ipswich, was six and in year one when last had her hair cut.
She had been growing her hair out for five years after she saw children on TV who have cancer and didn't have any hair.
She said: "Because my hair is really long, I thought I would cut it so they can make wigs for other children.
"It makes me happy knowing it will go to this cause because a child who doesn't have any hair can have mine and then they will be happy."
Laura said her friends will be really surprised with the hair transformation, as they only know her for having long hair.
Laura, a student at Morland Primary School in Ipswich, had her hair cut in the Friday Worship service at the school by her teacher Mrs Lipscombe.
Both the school and Laura have been raising money for the Little Princess Trust, who make real wigs.
So far, the combined total has reached over £500.
During the worship at the school, students of the weeks were handed out, including one to Laura with headteacher Mr John Crane saying: "You are doing something for somebody else, and that is great, and shows love."
In front of the school, Laura had her very long hair cut short, with everyone applauding and cheering every time one ponytail was cut off.
After, Laura said: "It feels really strange, it feels really light now.
"It was fun doing it in front of everyone. I liked the cheering every time.
"All my friends will say it looks really different."
Laura's mum Julie said in a Facebook post: 'Laura would like to thank Mrs Lipscombe for cutting her hair and also Mr Crane and Miss Houghton (assistant headteacher) for their support.'
Laura's fundraiser is still open on Facebook for donations until December 20.
