A 37-year-old man has been arrested after a girl was sexually assaulted and threatened in a residential street in Ipswich.
The incident happened in the Norwich Road area between 5.05pm and 5.20pm on Thursday, Suffolk police said.
The girl was walking from Bramford Lane into Brooks Hall Road when she was approached by a man she did not know.
She was then sexually assaulted and threatened by a man, who fled in the direction of Norwich Road.
A man was arrested at about 7.45pm on Friday on suspicion of sexual assault and was taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning.
The victim and her family are being supported by specially trained officers.
Police have been patrolling the area since the incident and officers are encouraging people with information to speak to them.
