A Christmas light drive-through for blue badge holders has been announced.
The accessible event will give ticket holders the opportunity to enjoy the lights from the comfort of their own cars.
Ipswich Borough Council has organised the free event for blue badge holders which will allow cars to drive through the pedestrianised town centre on Sunday, December 4, between 6pm and 9pm.
Places must be booked in advance and visitors will be given a dedicated time slot, with only one ticket needed per vehicle.
The route will begin at Major’s Corner and continues west along Carr Street, Tavern Street and Westgate Street, finishing at Museum Street.
There will be a 5mph speed limit in force and, except in an emergency, vehicles will not be permitted to stop.
Councillor Sophie Connelly, the council's portfolio holder for culture and customers, said: “We hope our Christmas lights drive through event will give those unable to do so on foot a chance to enjoy our festive display in the town centre.
“We are reminding those taking part to stay in their cars and to keep moving to give everybody the opportunity to see the Christmas lights.”
Tickets are available to book via the Ipswich Theatres website or by calling Ipswich Borough Council's Box Office team on 01473 433100.
