A busy Ipswich road near Ipswich town centre remains closed while emergency repairs are carried out.
Bramford Road near to the railway bridge was closed in both directions on Monday due to a "carriageway subsidence".
Posting on Twitter, Suffolk Highways said on Monday: "Investigations will take place to determine the cause, remedial repairs will take place as soon as possible."
A seven-mile diversion route has been put in place, which should take about 20 minutes to complete.
It is not yet clear how long the road will be shut for.
