A man attempted to rob a woman in a street outside Christchurch Park near Ipswich town centre.
The incident happened in Soane Street, outside the park's main entrance, at 10.25pm on Monday, November 14.
Suffolk police said the woman was approached from behind by a man, who attempted to grab her phone.
The suspect left empty-handed after a struggle in which the victim bit the man twice on his left calf.
The woman's coat was torn in the incident.
Police said the suspect fled the scene on foot towards Bolton Lane and St Margaret’s Street.
He is described as about 6ft tall, wearing a dark blue puffer-style jacket with brown fur hood, dark grey skinny jeans and black Nike Air Max trainers.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage of the area is urged to contact Suffolk police, quoting crime reference number 37/72763/22.
