A man has appeared in court charged with a number of offences in Ipswich including rape and false imprisonment.
Officers were called just before 8.30am on Sunday, November 13, by a woman in her 20s reporting that she had been raped earlier that morning in a flat in Portman Road by a man she had been in contact with.
Dekan Saed, 20, and of no fixed abode, was arrested in connection with these incidents and was taken to Martlesham police station for questioning.
Saed has subsequently been charged with eight offences; six counts of rape, one count of sexual touching and one count of false imprisonment.
He appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Thursday, November 17, and was remanded in custody pending an appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday, December 15.
