Plans have been submitted to establish a new independent café on Foxhall Road that hopes to "provide the community with a place to meet and relax".
The proposals would see the business replace the 'Four Seasons' Chinese takeaway that currently occupies the site.
Mrs Genta Hoxhaj, who has submitted the application, said on the planning documents: "There is a real café culture in Suffolk which tells us there is a demand.
"There is a shortage of independently owned destination cafes in the area for the local community.
"We would like to fill that gap and provide the local community with a place to meet and relax, which will contribute to people’s emotional wellbeing."
The owner also said they hope to source as many ingredients as possible from local small businesses across Suffolk.
"We feel passionately about shopping small, supporting other local businesses and the community and reducing our carbon footprint," said Mrs Hoxhaj.
