A concrete barrier has been put in place at one of Ipswich's busiest parks after a "group from the traveller community" was seen in the Stowmarket area.
The barrier has been put in place outside the entrance to Chantry Park near to the Ipswich and East Suffolk Cricket Club.
A spokesman for Ipswich Borough Council said: "The presence of concrete barriers at the entrances to Chantry Park is a temporary measure to prevent vehicles without permission to be there driving onto the park.
"We’ve been advised that a group from the traveller community have been moved on in the Stowmarket area."
A number of caravans were spotted pitched up in the Iliffe Way car park in Stowmarket on Monday.
They remained there as of Wednesday afternoon.
It comes after a number of travellers were spotted at the park in August.
